When Betty
Meeks,
owner of a fishing lodge in Tilghman County Georgia, welcomes her old pal
Sergeant "Froggy" LeSuer and his homely looking "foreigner"
friend, she has no idea of the comedy to follow. Thanks to the mistaken
belief that the foreigner doesn't understand English a pair of conniving
evil doers unwittingly expose their dirty plot and get their just deserts.
"I laughed start to finish at one comic surprise after another."--Edith
Oliver, The New Yorker. "...a constant invitation to relax and laugh
at the foolishness of life..."--Michael Feingold, Village Voice. "Shue's
comedy is positively antic, yet pleasantly seasoned with a few dashes of
sentimentality...He has raided comedy's storehouse..."--Peter Wynne,
Bergen Record.
