ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The academic year consists of a Fall Semester, a Spring Semester, and a
Summer Session composed of varying term lengths. Consult the Academic
Calendar page for current information.

Admission Requirements for Freshmen
Must graduate from a regionally accredited high school and rank in the
upper half of your graduating class OR have a minimum composite score of
19 on the ACT or a minimum score of 890 on the SAT.
Freshmen graduating in 1993 or later must also have completed the following
high school subjects: 4 years of English; 3 years of Social Science; 3 years
of Natural Science; 3 years of Mathematics (including computer programming);
2 years of work in Fine Arts, Foreign Languages, or vocational education
(only one voc. ed. course).
If you are 18 years of age or older, you can be considered upon successful
completion of the GED. The ACT or SAT is also required if you are under
21 years of age.
Admission Requirements for Transfer Students
Must have earned a cumulative "C" average for all college
work attempted and be in good standing at the last college attended on a
full-time basis.
If you have earned less than 30 semester hours of college credit, you
must also meet freshmen admission requirements.
Beginning with admission to the Fall 1993 term, students graduating
with an approved ICCB (Illinois Community College Board) Model A.A. or A.S.
degree will be granted junior standing and will have fulfilled our general
education requirements.

Must meet admission requirements for freshmen or transfer students,
whichever is applicable.
Must pass the TOEFL test with a minimum score of 500.
Must file a Northeastern Illinois University Financial Statement that
indicates your sponsor has sufficient finances to support you for the duration
of your stay in the United States.

HOW TO SCHEDULE A CAMPUS VISIT
To schedule your visit to campus, please call the School and College Relations
Office at (773) 794-3060. Our office is open Monday through Wednesday from
8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30
p.m.
Information about you that we will need before we can schedule a campus
visit includes:
1) Are you a transfer student?
2) If you are a transfer student, can you obtain copies of your college
transcripts prior to your visit to Northeastern?
3) What areas are you considering studying?
4) When are convenient times for you to visit our campus?
5) Would you like an individual appointment with a pre-admission counselor?
6) Would you like a tour of the campus?
7) Are there any special arrangements you may need for your visit?

Note: A health insurance fee of $141 is assessed to all undergraduates
enrolled in any combination of 12 credit hours or more for the Fall session.
New students will also be assessed a $10 transcript fee at the time of their
first registration.
