There are two types of user cards. One is an access card which allows the user to enter any of the University of Chicago Libraries. The other type of card is a borrowers card and allows the user access to the Libraries and also allows the user to check out circulating materials. Cards are held at the Crerar Library Circulation Desk for your convenience. The user must present a current faculty ID. Cards must be returned to the Crerar Circulation Desk before closing time. Users are advised to call (773-702 -7409) for Library hours, or check the University of Chicago Libraries Web site, as the library sets its own hours in keeping with their Academic calendar. In addition, one of the borrowers cards is kept at our Reference Desk and may be checked out for 2 or 3 days at a time.
Users are advised that as guests of the University of Chicago you are responsible for adhering to all of the University of Chicago policies and are responsible for all fees including late fees or any other fee which the University of Chicago may impose .
