6) Important: there is only 1 folder in which students can save their files. Navigate to the following folder:

C:\STUDENTS\Startup
**If you do not navigate to this file, you will get a message stating you cannot save your file. If you get this message, simply navigate to the proper folder.

7) Type your name again (or any other identification name). This will create your personal Foundations of Music file.

8) Click SAVE.

9) The chapter files will now be ready for you to access. Continue with the exercises as stated on your class syllabus.

Continuing Your Exercises (Using the SAME PC!)

After you have already created your file, you continue to use this file throughout the semester. You do not need to Register as a New Student again.

**Important Note: this procedure only works on PCs on which you already created a file. If you move to another PC, you will have to go through the initial setup instructions as stated above.

When you want to come back and continue your work where you left off:

1) Double-click the Foundations of Music icon.

2) Click on File/Open File For an  Existing Student

3) If the PC tries to read the A:\drive, click Cancel. Otherwise, Navigate to the folder:  C:\STUDENTS\Startup. The file you previously created, for example Jane, will be listed as Jane.FOM

4) Double-click on your .FOM file.

5) The chapters will be activated and you can continue your work according to your class syllabus.
