  1. What are your points for the following (possible points in parentheses):
    1. Exam I (100)

b.   Discussion Assignment I (25)

c.       Discussion Assignment II (25)

d.       Participation assignments 1 – 4 (20)

  1. Add up your total points so far.

  1. To determine what you have left to do in the class, subtract your total points so far from the total needed to attain the grade you are striving for in the class.

A =329-365

B = 292-328

C = 256-292

D = 219-255

  1. To figure out if what you are striving for is realistic, figure out how many points you need in relationship to how many are left:

Exam II (100 points)

Discussion Assignment III (25 Points)

Participation #5 (5 points)

Project (40 points)

Attendance/Participation (25)*

Total left: 195

*To calculate your maximum attendance/participation grade, determine how many absences you have had and then figure (maximums appear after the =). Check the syllabus for the details.

                        No or one absence = 25

                        Two = 20

                        Three or four = 15

                        Five or more = 10

5. Please give me a copy of your calculations so I can double-check with my records. If we have different information, now is the time to figure it out rather than after course grades are submitted. Please get to my by Monday, November 19.
