Answer: The part of an eighth, quarter, or half note which is a vertical line, attached to the note head.

2) What is a time signature (give an example)?

Answer: Two numbers at the beginning of a song, which indicate the song's meter. For example, in 4/4 time, the quarter notes gets one beat and there are four beats in a measure.

3) What is the difference between rhythm and meter.

Answer: Meter is an aspect of rhythm. Rhythm is how long and short notes are, and 'deals with' the time of music. Meter organizes rhythms and notes into organized patterns, called measures or bars.
