Requirements for the course
This is a course on how to apply research tools and methods to answer
questions about the nature of children's development. Thus, the primary
requirement for this course is completion of a research project which you
will write up in the form of a scientific report and hand in no later than
the exam day, May 5, 1999 (at noon). This report will account for 60% of
your grade.
In addtion, to help you acquire the necessary research skills for accomplishing
this research project, you will be given two short answer assignments testing
your knowledge of basic research concepts. These assignments will account
for 40% of your grade.
Class will be split between lecture and discussion and the actual collecting,
coding and analyzing of the data. Attached is the course schedule in detail.
