FACTS of INTEREST
- LEAP has developed a CD-ROM highlighting the
work of the partnership. For more information, e-mail D-Flatley@neiu.edu.
- LEAP was chosen by Harvard's Project Zero /ARTS
SURVIVE! as one of eight "Promising Partnerships" in a research
study which includes 21 networks (out of 98 nominated for consideration
nationwide). Participating initiatives were chosen for both their programmatic
diversity and their ability to exemplify how networks can approach common
issues faced by arts education partnerships.
- LEAP artists and staff members have led Chicago
Board of Education workshops on developing arts integrated curriculum.
LEAP led one of these workshops using distance learning facilities through
the Chicago Public Schools/Office of School and Regions Bureau of Cultural
Arts in collaboration with the Chicago Consortium for Higher Education
(and with development assistance from Americorp NCCC). The Chicago Teachers'
Center, LEAP's anchor organization, now has its own distance learning education
facility with the North Suburban Network.
LEAP and its partners have begun to receive national
and international recognition for the work of the initiative. Visit this
site again soon for further developments in this unique and successful program.
