CHANGES IN THE FALL 1998 SCHEDULE:

There have been a number of changes in the psychology course offerings for the fall that occurred since the printing of the NEIU fall schedule. Therefore, the new fall schedule for psychology is enclosed. In essence, five classes have been cancelled, two new ones added, and five others have been changed as to day and time.

When you do touchtone registration, listen to the confirmation message that will speak the day and time of your selected classes. If the machine says a section is "cancelled," look for an "addition" of that same course on this list. In addition, pay attention for weekly updates, if any, that will be posted on the department schedule bulletin board, and announced on our website: http://www.neiu.edu/~deptpsyc. For any questions, call the department office at 773-794-2595. Additional changes have been made in the graduate program in gerontology. See their newsletter for details.

ADDITIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Positions are available to serve as PROCTORS in PSYC 200 General Psychology. If you have completed PSYC 200 and an additional 6 to 12 credit hours in psychology you can earn 3 credit hours as a teaching assistant in this course. It will count as an elective within the major, and is an excellent review for those preparing for the Graduate Record Exams (GRE). For information, call Dr. Margaret Condon at 773-794-2582.

CO-TEACHERS will be needed in several courses, including Statistics and Research Methods I and II, Introduction to Psychology, and possibly others. If interested, call the listed instructor of the course.

Anyone considering a FIELD EXPERIENCE project (internship) for the fall should begin making arrangements (July) before the summer term ends. Steps include researching sites, applying and interviewing, and creating a learning program with a faculty instructor for the project. If interested, pick up a copy of the field experience manual in the department office.
